MONTE TESTACCIO

The name of our products is derived from the history of the Mount Testaccio back in I and III century AC in the city of Rome.

Mount Testaccio is now an artificial hill made in the city of Rome during the I and III century AC. This 40 meter-high pile covers an area of 20 000 square meters at its base and is composed of the fragments of approximately 26 million of broken amphorae of olive oil that came from Hispania to reach the port of Rome.

Once the content of the vessels was emptied, they were carried up the mound and broken up thus leaving the potsherds to form the mount.

Our products are elaborated with extra virgin olive oil manufactured in our farms, located in San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, Argentina. This region has excellent agro-climatic conditions for the growing of the olive.

The environmental factors, such as scarce rainfall, great variation of temperatures, soil composition and rare frost, as compared to the rest of the other producing provinces, are appropriate for the plants development. They provide raw material of exceptional quality, which is eventually reflected in our final products.

The state-of-the-art technology as well as the highly qualified professionals bring constant control over the production process, from the growing of the olives and the different ingredients to the marketing of the products. During all the stages, our resources are destined to comply with the high standards this model farm and international bodies require. For this reason our products have distinct organoleptic properties, thus satisfying our consumer needs and interests.
